Your new companyAs the sole agency supplier for the provision of maintenance trades and support operatives to HM Prisons, Hays is seeking to recruit a Maintenance Handyperson/General Building Operative for HMP Hull. This is an exciting opportunity to work within a prison environment and can often create opportunities to apply for permanent opportunities.Key ResponsibilitiesCarry out general maintenance, repairs, and minor refurbishment works across the prison estate.Complete basic plumbing, carpentry, painting, decorating, and building fabric repairs.Respond to reactive maintenance requests and support planned maintenance activities.Conduct routine inspections and report defects, hazards, or security concerns.Ensure compliance with health and safety, security, and tool control procedures.Maintain accurate records of completed work and materials used.Assist other trades and contractors with maintenance projects as required.Support the safe, secure, and efficient operation of prison facilities.Hours:Mon-Fri (39 hours per week) (Generally 7:45am - 16:45pm may vary depending on site)What you''ll need to succeedPrevious experience in a prison/ public sector is not required for this role. The nature of the role requires candidates to be security-conscious and able to challenge potential compromises and risks.
