About the Company A well-established precision engineering company based in Croft, Leicestershire, specialising in high-quality gear manufacturing and machining solutions for Worldwide car brands. With a reputation for quality craftsmanship and reliability, the business continues to grow and is now seeking an experienced Gear Cutter to join the team.The Role As a Gear Cutter, you will be responsible for the production of precision gears using manual gear cutting machines. You ll be working from technical drawings to produce high-quality components, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and adherence to customer specifications.Key Responsibilities Operate manual gear cutting machines (gear hobbing, shaping, and related processes). Read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications. Produce high-quality gears to tight tolerances. Perform routine machine maintenance and ensure safe operation. Work closely with the engineering team to meet production deadlines. Carry out quality checks on finished components. Requirements Previous experience as a Gear Cutter / Gear Machinist (manual essential). Strong understanding of gear cutting processes (hobbing, shaping, slotting). Ability to work from technical drawings and use measuring equipment. High attention to detail and quality-focused approach. Good time management and ability to work independently. Hours and Pay Monday to Friday, 7:30am 4:00pm (39 hours per week). Pay: £25.00+ per hour depending on experience. Benefits ..... full job details .....
