We''re looking for a GCSE English Tutor to support children and young people across Portsmouth, Southampton, and the surrounding Hampshire areas.

Working on behalf of Local Authorities, you''ll provide 1:1 tuition to learners who require alternative educational provision. Many of the students you''ll support have experienced barriers to education and benefit from a tailored approach that helps rebuild confidence, improve attainment, and prepare for GCSE success.

Whether students are working towards their exams, catching up on missed learning, or re-engaging with education, you''ll play an important role in helping them achieve their goals.

• Hours: Flexible
• Pay Rate: -2530 per hour
• Type: 1:1 Tuition

Requirements

• Minimum 6 months'' experience in an educational setting, including tutoring, teaching, teaching assistant, learning support, mentoring, or similar roles
• Strong knowledge of GCSE English
• Experience delivering or supporting English lessons
• Ability to adapt learning to suit different abilities and learning styles
• Experience supporting students with SEND, EHCPs, or additional needs is desirable
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills
• Patient, engaging, and flexible approach
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one
• Driver preferred; alternatively, willingness to travel locally across Portsmouth, Southampton, and surrounding areas

• Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs
• ADHD
• Anxiety and school avoidance
• EHCPs and additional educational needs
