Gas Responsible Person

A leading company in the Facilities Management sector is seeking a permanent Gas Responsible Person to oversee a major public sector and defense estate in Cambridgeshire.Operating as the primary technical authority for gas safety across the region, you will ensure the flawless management, operation, and compliance of domestic and commercial gas networks. This is a hybrid, home-based role requiring regular site visits in Cambridgeshire, making it ideal for a senior engineer, technical manager, or compliance inspector looking to step away from tools and focus on safety governance, risk management, and stakeholder assurance. The Role As the Gas Responsible Person, you ll: Lead Gas Infrastructure Governance: Act as the appointed point of contact for all gas-related technical matters, ensuring infrastructure compliance in line with Gas Safety Management Plans (GSMP) and statutory requirements. Manage Safe Systems of Work: Oversee the practical implementation of gas safety procedures, controlling on-site activities through the production, review, and issuance of permits to work, risk assessments, and method statements (RAMS). Assess and Mentor Competency: Evaluate and verify the technical competence of Gas Skilled Persons, supporting their training and ensuring all engineers operating on the estate fully understand their safety responsibilities.
