Location: Birmingham

Pay/Day rate/Salary (salary for perm roles): £38,000 – £48,000 per annum (depending on experience)

Hours of Work: Monday to Friday, full-time, with participation in call-out rota

Type: Permanent, Full-Time

Start Date: Immediately (flexible for notice periods)

We are hiring for a Commercial Gas Engineer who holds valid Gas Safe qualifications and a CSCS card and can work across a variety of commercial properties in the Birmingham region. This is a field-based role covering installations, servicing, and maintenance, and you will be using your technical skills and knowledge to deliver safe and compliant works to schools, factories, and other commercial premises.

Duties of a Commercial Gas Engineer

In this role you will be working in the Mechanical Services Team to deliver high-quality heating and gas engineering services to clients. Reporting to the Contracts Manager, you will be responsible for:

1. Servicing and maintaining commercial heating and gas equipment

2. Carrying out gas soundness testing, fault finding, and remedial works

3. Installing heating systems, boilers, and associated plumbing equipment

4. Completing all compliance records and documentation in line with legislation

5. Supporting reactive call-outs, inspections, and small works projects

Skills and experience of a Commercial Gas Engineer

As a Commercial Gas Engineer, you need to have experience with:

1. Servicing, maintaining, and installing commercial gas and heating systems

2. Liaising with clients and managing works independently or as part of a team

It would be beneficial to the Commercial Gas Engineer role if you also had:

1. Secondary skills such as plumbing, F-gas, Oftec, or electrical knowledge

2. Experience working at height using MEWPs

3. Manufacturer-specific training (e.g., Daikin, Panasonic, Mitsubishi, etc.)
