Gardener

The Opportunity

We are currently recruiting for a Gardener based in West Surrey. This is a long term, self employed position, working approximately 8.00am to 6.00pm, with an hourly rate of -17 to -22 depending on experience. The start date is ASAP.

This role involves working as part of a two person team, maintaining a portfolio of private gardens to a consistently high standard. You will typically work across 1 to 3 gardens per day, delivering quality garden maintenance and ensuring excellent presentation at all times.

This position is ideal for an experienced gardener who takes pride in their work, is reliable, and can represent the business professionally on site.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out general garden maintenance across multiple sites
• Complete lawn care including mowing, edging, feeding, and seasonal treatments
• Undertake hedge cutting and shaping to a high standard
• Carry out pruning of shrubs, trees, and perennials
• Weed beds, borders, and hard landscaped areas
• Plant seasonal bedding, bulbs, and shrubs
• Maintain borders and planted areas to a high presentation standard
• Water plants and manage irrigation where required
• Identify plant health issues and report or treat where appropriate
• Maintain clean and tidy working areas on every site
• Work efficiently across multiple gardens each day
• Support team member to complete jobs to schedule

Requirements

• Proven experience in garden maintenance
• Full UK driving licence essential
• Ability to work as part of a two person team
• Own PPE required
• Strong understanding of horticultural practices
• Ability to work to consistently high standards
• Professional and well presented at all times
