Gap Talent is recruiting a Fund Accounting Manager to be based in London for a Global Investment manager.Overview
Purpose of Role: To support the Head of Fund Accounting in providing a dependable and professional fund accounting service, and to support the existing team with an increasing number of funds.Primary Duties
Responsible for overseeing all daily, monthly, quarterly and annual processes for which the fund accounting team cover including:The daily PandL process, including attribution of PandL by driverProduction of the daily, weekly and monthly fund return estimates and attributionAdherence to valuation source hierarchy and overall valuation policyAssisting administrator in receiving independent confirmation of external valuations; and reconciliation of estimated NAV / PandL to final NAV / PandLMonitoring of daily valuation changes to ensure movements are in line with market driversInternal reporting including the preparation of monthly, quarterly and ad-hoc reports for senior management summarising PandL attribution, fund performance, key drivers, changes and/or risks to business continuityManaging the internal fund of funds rebalancing processesManaging the FX hedge processes for the fundsAssist in the development of new business, fund start-ups, new products or new corporate structures; and External reportingAssist in preparation of annual audited financial statementsRegulatory reporting – assist in the preparation and review of Form PF, CPO and AIFMDShareholder reporting; and Corporate and Fund board reportingGeneral
Providing day-to-day support to team members both within your team and the wider organisationExperience, Knowledge and Skills
Particularly adept in Excel and other Microsoft programs;Process improvement skills, ideally with Python/Power Suite tools/VBAEducational and Professional Qualifications
Educated to degree (or equivalent) level or higher, preferably from a leading university;ACCA, CIMA or ACA qualifiedEmployment within an asset management environmentA detailed knowledge of fund accounting, involving equalisation credits, contingent redemption, and series accounting is essentialAdept at discussing and considering hypothetical scenarios and generating ideas with respect to Fund AccountingExcellent communication skills and the ability to interact with all staff at all levelsStrong organisational skills and the ability to manage a range of competing priorities and projects to tight deadlinesDemonstrable and robust people management experience;Key Internal Relationships
