The Opportunity

Prospero Teaching is recruiting Functional Skills Tutors to deliver personalised 1:1 tuition to learners across Wrexham.

You''ll support students working towards Functional Skills qualifications in English and/or Maths, helping them strengthen essential literacy and numeracy skills while developing the confidence needed for further education, employment and everyday life.

The ability to adapt your teaching to each learner will be key to the role.

Position Details

* Location: Wrexham
* Position: Functional Skills Tutor
* Hours: 5-15 hours per week
* Start Date: September 2026
* Duration: Ongoing

Experience, Training and Qualifications

The successful candidate will have:

* Experience delivering Functional Skills English and/or Maths
* Previous teaching or tutoring experience
* Strong subject knowledge
* A supportive and flexible teaching style

Experience working with learners who have gaps in education or require additional support would be beneficial.

To be eligible, you must:

* Hold the Right to Work in the UK
* Hold an enhanced DBS certificate registered with the Update Service, or be willing to obtain one
* Provide two professional references
