Location: LichfieldPay: £28+ per hourJob Type: Temporary, ongoing (covering sickness absence and extended vetting processes)We are currently seeking an experienced Functional Skills Maths Tutor to deliver Level 1 and Level 2 Functional Skills within a prison education setting. This is a rewarding opportunity to support learners in developing essential English skills that enhance employability and rehabilitation.Key ResponsibilitiesDeliver high-quality Level 1 and Level 2 Functional Skills Maths sessions to adult learnersPlan engaging, inclusive lessons tailored to a range of abilities and learning needsAssess learner progress and provide clear, constructive feedbackPrepare learners for Functional Skills assessments and examinationsMaintain accurate learner records, including attendance, progress, and achievementPromote positive behaviour, motivation, and learner engagement in a custodial environmentWork collaboratively with education staff, prison staff, and support servicesEnsure all teaching complies with safeguarding, health and safety, and prison security requirementsRequired Skills and QualificationsTeaching qualification (PGCE, Cert Ed, or equivalent) or relevant teaching/training experienceFunctional Skills Maths Level 2 (or equivalent)Proven experience delivering Functional Skills Maths at L1 and L2Strong classroom and behaviour management skillsAbility to engage, motivate, and support adult learners with varied educational backgroundsExcellent communication, ..... full job details .....
