Integration Engineer - API andamp; Enterprise Systems (Contract)Contract Length: 6 months Location: UK - based anywhere/Remote Sector: Retail Banking We are seeking an experienced Integration Engineer to support the delivery and long-term operation of critical enterprise integrations within a retail banking environment. This role is hands-on and delivery-focused, with responsibility transitioning into the Run phase as the integration subject matter expert.Key ResponsibilitiesBuild and maintain secure, scalable API integrations using REST, OAuth2, webhooks, and asynchronous messaging patternsDesign and implement integrations using Java and Spring Boot, developing robust integration adapters and servicesIntegrate with enterprise platforms such as: Workday APIs (HCM and Talent modules)GitLab APIs (commit and activity data extraction)LMS/training platforms or similar SaaS systemsImplement reliable data flows including: Data mapping and transformationError handling and retry strategiesDead letter queue (DLQ) patternsWork with AWS messaging services such as SQS and EventBridgeSupport the transition from delivery into Run, acting as the integration SME and providing knowledge transfer to wider teamsCollaborate closely with product, platform, and operations teams to ensure integrations are supportable and compliantRequired Experience3+ years'' experience delivering API-led integrationsStrong experience with REST APIs, OAuth2, webhooks, and asynchronous messagingHands-on Java/Spring ..... full job details .....
