Salary: £30,000 - £40,000 depending on experience

We are recruiting for a Freight & Customs Coordinator to join a growing niche business within the logistics and supply chain sector.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience across customs, freight forwarding, imports, exports, shipping or logistics coordination who is looking to join a business that can offer long-term career development, progression and continued industry exposure.

You will be involved in coordinating freight movements, supporting customs processes, liaising with customers and suppliers, and helping to ensure goods move efficiently through the supply chain.

Key Responsibilities:
Coordinating import and export shipments from booking through to delivery
Supporting customs processes and ensuring documentation is completed accurately
Preparing, checking and processing import/export paperwork
Liaising with customers, hauliers, carriers, ports, agents and internal teams
Arranging collections, deliveries and transport bookings
Monitoring shipments and providing customers with regular updates
Resolving queries relating to documentation, clearance, transport or delivery schedules
Ensuring all information is recorded accurately on internal systems
Supporting compliance with UK import/export procedures and customs requirements
Assisting with quotations, operational administration and customer enquiries
Building strong working relationships with customers and external partners
Working closely with the wider logistics team to ensure a smooth and efficient service
The Successful Candidate Will Have:
Previous experience within freight forwarding, customs, shipping, import/export or logistics operations
A good understanding of import and export processes
Strong administration skills and excellent attention to detail
Confident communication skills and a customer-focused approach
The ability to manage multiple shipments, deadlines and priorities
Good problem-solving skills and the ability to work well under pressure
A proactive attitude and willingness to develop within the role
The ability to work both independently and as part of a team
Desirable Experience:
Experience using customs systems or working with customs documentation
Knowledge of UK customs processes and international trade procedures
Experience dealing with road, sea or air freight
Previous experience liaising with hauliers, shipping lines, ports, carriers or overseas agents
Commercial awareness within a freight, logistics or supply chain environment
