Freelance Site Manager

Job Description:

We are seeking a highly experienced Freelance Site Manager to provide short-term cover (1 month) on a major Waste Plant project located in Belvedere, London. The successful candidate will oversee day-to-day site operations, with a particular focus on the fit-out phase, including managing subcontractors, coordinating with the project team, and ensuring health & safety compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage and coordinate all on-site activities during the fit-out phase

• Liaise with project managers, architects, and subcontractors

• Ensure works are delivered safely, on time, and to specification

• Monitor progress and maintain site documentation and reports

• Conduct daily briefings and toolbox talks

• Enforce health & safety standards and carry out site inspections

• Resolve on-site issues and escalate where necessary

• Maintain quality control and ensure compliance with project drawings and specs

Requirements:

• Proven experience managing fit-out phases of industrial or commercial refurbishments

• SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme)

• CSCS Card (Black or White preferred)

• First Aid at Work

• Strong leadership and communication skills

• Ability to work independently and keep a fast-paced project on track

• Experience dealing with M&E trades and sequencing

• Knowledge of CDM regulations and construction best practices

Preferred:

• Previous experience on industrial/warehouse refurbishments

• Live within reasonable commuting distance to Belvedere, London

• Available for immediate start
