Freelance Site Engineer

Elvet Recruitment are recruiting for a Freelance Civil-Site Engineer on behalf of a reputable civil engineering contractor to work on a new-upcoming-project in Selly Oak, Birmingham.

The contractor are delivering a varied groundworks & muckshift package for social housing upgrades. The work will include: topsoil strip, paving, road upgrades, surfacing, services and some landscaping & external works.

The project will run from September 2026 to mid-2027, with potential further phases to be confirmed.

Duties:

• Survey existing levels and keep on top of volumes of cut to evidence when claiming in application
• Set out all services as per GPR and keep records of all exposed and potentially lowered
• Survey existing and setting out of all new footpaths, steps and fencing
• Create as built records throughout, of all works
• Manage the QA side of delivery
• Raise RFI''s and TQ''s
• Support the Site Manager

Experience required:

• Must have proven experience as-Site Engineer-within-groundworks / civils
• Must be confident with use of GPS and Total Station
• Must have the ability to process volume reports
• Industry related qualification is beneficial (HNC/HND or Degree)
• Ideally have own kit but not essential
• Must hold: CSCS card and full driving license

Pay:

A rate of up to -350-per day (doe).

Can be paid CIS. Or Ltd company outside IR-35 providing contractors meet requirements. Elvet Recruitment has an IR-35 partner who provide checks and IR-35 insurance.
