Freelance Senior Quantity Surveyor

We have an excellent opportunity for an experienced Freelance Senior Quantity Surveyor to join a large PLC housebuilder in Basingstoke for an initial four-month contract, with the potential to extend.

You will support the commercial delivery of complex new-build residential developments, bringing strong technical knowledge and the ability to work confidently at the speed and pace expected within a volume housebuilding environment.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Managing subcontractor procurement, accounts and payments.
• Preparing cost reports, valuations and financial forecasts.
• Managing variations, identifying commercial risks and maintaining cost control.
• Working closely with site teams and the wider commercial team to keep developments progressing against programme and budget.

You must have proven experience delivering new-build residential schemes at Senior Quantity Surveyor level, ideally within a large PLC housebuilder. A clear understanding of the complexities of these developments, strong commercial judgement and the ability to take ownership of your workload are essential.

Competitive rates are available, dependent on experience. This assignment falls inside IR35.
