Freelance Quantity Surveyor

We are currently working with a leading main contractor delivering a RC Frame residential new build project comprising of 1100 units looking for a Quantity Surveyor to work alongside a Commercial Manager. The scheme is at the early stages with project completion due 2028.-

Key Responsibilities

• Commercial management of the project from site through to final account.
• Procurement and management of subcontract packages.
• Preparation and submission of valuations, variations, and payment applications.
• Cost reporting, forecasting, and budget control.
• Management of subcontractor accounts and payments.
• Identification and management of commercial risks and opportunities.
• Close collaboration with the project team to ensure commercial objectives are achieved.
• Attendance at client and project meetings.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor on major construction residential projects-
• Strong knowledge of JCT contracts.
• Excellent commercial awareness and negotiation skills.
• Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative project team.
• Degree qualified (or equivalent) in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline preferred.
