The role & about the client:
ITS Construction Professionals South are recruiting on behalf of a reputable residential contractor based in Crawley for an experienced Freelance Quantity Surveyor to join their growing team.
This well-established contractor specialises in high-quality residential developments and bespoke projects ranging from £300k to £2m in value. Due to a strong pipeline of secured work and continued growth, they are seeking a commercially astute Quantity Surveyor to support projects from pre-construction through to final account.
The successful candidate will play a key role in the commercial management of multiple residential projects, ensuring works are delivered on time and within budget while maintaining strong relationships with subcontractors, suppliers, and clients. This is an ASAP requirement, and the client is able to move quickly for the right candidate.
Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Managing the commercial aspects of residential construction projects from inception to completion.
Procurement and management of subcontractors and suppliers.
Preparing valuations, variations, cost reports, and final accounts.
Monitoring project costs, budgets, and cash flow.
Working closely with site teams and directors to ensure commercial objectives are achieved.
Identifying and managing project risks and opportunities.
Maintaining accurate financial and contractual records throughout the project lifecycle.
Supporting the delivery of projects to programme and budget.
The ideal candidate will have/be:
Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within the residential construction sector.
Experience managing projects valued between £300k - £2m.
Strong commercial awareness and negotiation skills.
Ability to manage multiple projects independently.
Excellent communication and organisational skills.
Relevant construction or commercial qualifications preferred.
Freelance/contracting experience advantageous.
Full UK driving licence.
