About the Role:
We are seeking a Freelance Design Manager to join a site-based team in Hackney on a high-profile new build hotel project. This 6-month contract requires an individual with proven experience in hotel schemes or complex fit-out projects, capable of managing the design process from early stages through to delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage the coordination of design information between consultants, subcontractors, and site teams.

• Review drawings, specifications, and design packages to ensure accuracy and buildability.

• Chair and document design team meetings, driving progress against programme.

• Resolve technical issues and support the project team during construction.

• Ensure compliance with building regulations, client requirements, and quality standards.

• Report on design progress to the Project Manager and wider team.

Requirements:

• Previous experience as a Design Manager on hotels or high-spec fit-out projects is essential.

• Strong technical knowledge across architecture, MEP, and interiors.

• Excellent communication and coordination skills.

• Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and work to tight deadlines.

• Relevant qualifications and professional memberships preferred.
