FRA Fire Door Surveyor

We are hiring a contract FRA Fire Door Surveyor for an ongoing project based in Harlow. This position offers a competitive day rate of 320 per shift plus expenses for a qualified professional to inspect and assess fire door compliance. Role Overview Job Title: FRA Fire Door Surveyor Location: Harlow (with local travel as required) Rate: 320 per shift + business-related expenses Position Type: Contract / Ongoing project Start Date: Immediate or short notice Key Responsibilities Carry out comprehensive Fire Risk Assessments (FRA) specifically focused on fire doors. Inspect fire door frames, panels, hardware, intumescent seals, and gaps to ensure compliance with current UK fire safety regulations. Utilize digital handheld devices or specific compliance software to record survey data and upload detailed reports. Identify defects, non-compliance issues, and clearly prescribe required remedial actions (e.g., repairs or full replacements). Requirements and Qualifications Experience: Proven track record working as a Fire Door Surveyor or FRA Inspector. Qualifications: Recognized industry qualification in fire door inspection (e.g., FDIS, BM TRADA, or FireQual accreditation). Knowledge: Thorough, up-to-date knowledge of UK Fire Safety legislation and British Standards (such as BS 8214). Tools: Full UK driving licence, own transport, and standard surveying tools/PPE.
