      <description>Location: Edinburgh | Salary: &amp;pound;90 - &amp;pound;100/hour | Type: Contract | Our client, a prominent name in the Defence &amp; Security sector, is currently seeking a contract FPGA Engineer to join their esteemed team. This role is centred in the Surveillance Sector, where you will play a crucial part in developing firmware and working on FPGAs that support both proven surveillance radar systems and breakthrough next-generation technologies.   Key Responsibilities:    Developing high-performance firmware for critical surveillance radar solutions like Osprey and Seaspray  Engaging in requirement capture, architecture definition, design maturation, integration, and qualification support of next-generation surveillance radars  Analysing system-level requirements and capturing/deriving detailed firmware requirements  Utilising technical expertise in firmware design techniques and tools, from VHDL to place-and-route  Specifying timing and area constraints for efficient FPGA place-and-route  Integrating and debugging complex systems where firmware interacts with hardware and software  Collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to ensure successful project delivery  Mentoring junior team members to enhance their skills in firmware development    Job Requirements:    D...</description>
