Salary: -30,000 - -35,000

The Company

With the Head Office in Snetterton, Norfolk, they supply and maintain new and quality used Forklift Trucks and have done so for more than 30 years. The Company has been built on excellent reputation and complete Customer focus.

They are now looking to hire an experienced Forklift Truck Service Engineer to support their Customers across East Anglia. As an experienced Fork Truck Service Engineer, you would be responsible for repair, service and maintenance of electric, LPG and diesel forklifts.

You would be required to not only be Workshop based but also field based supporting their clients. Successful candidates must have a current driving licence, and although a van will be supplied, minimum age of 25 years due to Insurance requirements. It is also essential that the successful candidate has experience of working on forklift trucks or similar vehicles.

Duties

  • Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic issues on forklift trucks.
  • Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs to ensure equipment operates efficiently and safely
  • Use hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, soldering irons, and fabrication techniques to repair or modify components as needed
  • Maintain detailed service records, repair logs, and compliance documentation for each piece of equipment serviced
  • Provide excellent customer service by communicating repair status clearly and advising clients on maintenance best practices

Requirements

  • Proven experience in electrical and mechanical repair of heavy equipment such as forklifts.
  • Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and other maintenance tools
  • Mechanical knowledge related to assembly, equipment repair, and troubleshooting machinery
  • Experience working with electrical systems including wiring diagrams
  • Excellent customer service skills with a proactive approach to problem-solving
  • Relevant certifications in forklift operation or equipment repair are preferred but not mandatory; however, hands-on experience is essential
