Location: Thame, Oxfordshire
Salary: £29,600 per annum
Overview: First Military Recruitment are currently seeking a Forklift Operator on behalf of one of our clients.
This role is based in the Transport yard and warehouse - You will be required to work across various activities to support the Pallet Network activities with our morning shift Forklift operations. You will need to be flexible, willing to adapt and learn and will be comfortable working in a transport and warehouse environment. You will work a 45 hour work week, working Monday - Friday, roughly 6:30am - 4:30pm. You will be required to work one Saturday morning per month, between 5am - 11am.

Duties and Responsibilities:
- You will be required to support in various areas of the Transport and warehouse departments. This will include moving or collecting items from the warehouse to vehicles.
- You will be required to effectively communicate with various people at all levels within the business. You will be working closely with all members of the
- team.
- You will be required to monitor and respond to e-mails and telephone calls from clients, depots and colleagues.
- Our pallet networks use specific systems to manage their manifests and as such, you will be required to be proficient in using all the appropriate systems along with all Microsoft packages.
- You will be required to work very closely with the other members of the transport team as well as key stakeholders to ensure all operational processes are efficient.
- A key part of the role is ensuring that all of the pallets that are delivered from the hub are accurately scanned and labelled in preparation for the daily deliveries.
- You will be responsible for ensuring that all the pallets you handle have the appropriate labels and are allocated to the correct vehicles (escalating any issues).
- Supporting the Transport Manager and Shift Supervisors where required to ensure all Health & Safety regulations are met.
- Complying with all Health & Safety regulations as set out by regulatory bodies.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Current Counterbalance Forklift licence (preferred).
- Previous transport or warehouse experience.
- Enthusiastic and willing to learn.
- Keen to work as part of a team.
- Flexibility.
