Forklift Driver
Apex are seeking a Counterbalance Forklift Driver in East Kilbride
The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating forklifts and other material handling equipment to ensure efficient movement of goods within our warehouse. This role is crucial for maintaining the flow of operations, ensuring safety, and supporting shipping and receiving tasks.
Responsibilities
Operate forklifts safely and efficiently to load and unload materials from lorries and storage areas.
Perform shipping and receiving duties, including checking incoming and outgoing shipments for accuracy.
Conduct regular inspections of equipment to ensure proper functioning and report any maintenance needs.
Handle materials with care, ensuring that all items are stored correctly within the warehouse management system.
Assist in heavy lifting tasks as needed, ensuring compliance with safety regulations.
Maintain a clean and organised work environment, adhering to health and safety standards.
Skills
Proven experience in a warehouse setting, particularly in shipping and receiving operations.
Proficient in operating forklifts and other material handling equipment.
Capable of heavy lifting and physically demanding tasks as required by the role.
Familiarity with warehouse management systems for tracking inventory movements.
Basic maths skills for accurate counting and inventory management.
Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail to ensure efficient operations.
Hour of Work
Monday to Thursday 8am - 5pm, Friday 8am - 1pm paid at -13.75 per hour
Please note that all applicants must be able to provide full right to work documentation, evidence of a national insurance number from an official letter from HMRC and have an active bank account in their own name for processing wages. This is in line with our ISO accreditation and GLA compliance standards
