TipTopJobAn exciting job opportunity has arisen for a committed Forensic or General Adult Consultant Psychiatrist to work in an exceptional mental health hospital based in the Warrington, Cheshire area. You will be working for one of UKs leading health care provider.This special hospital service provides care and treatment for adult women in medium, and low secure, and psychiatric intensive care (PICU) environments, who have Personality Disorder and Mental Health conditions.To be considered for this position you must hold a Full GMC Registration.Responsibilities
Taking clinical responsibility for patients, including multidisciplinary ward rounds, risk reviews, strategic reviews and the development of a therapeutic milieuFulfilling the role of Responsible Clinician to patients detained under the Mental Health Act (1983)Offering a psychiatric perspective to the multidisciplinary team in relation to the assessment, formulation and treatment of patientsContributing to management meetings and clinical governance meetings for the services provided at the hospital, and contributing to the development of service strategyContributing to in-house training programmes within the services and offering supervision to other members of the multidisciplinary team, particularly junior medical staffMaintaining CPD and re-validation requirements, as determined by the Royal College of Psychiatrists or other relevant statutory bodiesSkills and experience
Be innovative and imaginative with the ability to initiate corporate decisionsHave essential understanding of current developments in psychiatry and other aspects of mental healthHave substantial knowledge of change management, relevant legislation, contemporary issues in mental health, knowledge of and experience in purchaser/provider contractual issuesHave previous Consultant experience in a management roleBenefits
