Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver engaging and effective Food Technology lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4.
- Develop a comprehensive curriculum that integrates hands-on cooking techniques with a strong focus on food science, nutrition, and sustainability.
- Regularly assess students'' progress and provide constructive feedback to support their development and help them reach their potential.
- Create a safe and inclusive learning environment that ensures all students are supported during practical activities.
- Manage classroom resources, including ingredients and equipment, ensuring everything is properly maintained and stored safely.
- Collaborate with colleagues across different departments to create cross-curricular learning opportunities.
- Contribute to extracurricular activities, such as food clubs, school events, and competitions, to engage and inspire students beyond the classroom.
Qualifications andamp; Experience:
- Previous experience teaching Food Technology in a secondary school is desirable.
- Strong knowledge of food preparation, nutrition, and health.
- A genuine passion for food education and the ability to inspire students to develop both practical and critical thinking skills.
- Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to manage resources and equipment effectively.
- Strong classroom management skills and the ability to support students with a range of abilities.
