Supply Desk are working in partnership with a thriving secondary school in Gillingham, seeking a talented Food Technology Teacher to join their team on a full-time basis. This is a fantastic opportunity to inspire students and make a real impact in a supportive and well-resourced environment.

Responsibilities:


  • Engaging Lessons andndash; Deliver creative and interactive Food Technology lessons across Key Stages 3 to 5, catering to students of varying abilities.
  • Innovative Teaching andndash; Develop exciting and practical lessons that encourage a love for cooking and nutrition.
  • Student Development andndash; Foster a passion for food preparation, healthy eating, and kitchen skills through hands-on learning.
  • Assessment andamp; Feedback andndash; Track student progress, provide constructive feedback, and support their continued development.
  • Collaboration andndash; Work closely with colleagues in the Design and Technology department to deliver a dynamic and inspiring curriculum.
  • Positive Learning Environment andndash; Promote safe kitchen practices and ensure students develop confidence in their cooking abilities.

Requirements:


  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent certification.
  • Specialism in Food Technology andndash; A degree in Design and Technology or a related field.
  • Secondary Teaching Experience andndash; Previous experience delivering Food Technology lessons at the secondary level.
  • Strong Curriculum Knowledge andndash; A thorough understanding of the UK Food Technology curriculum.
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).
  • Excellent Communication Skills andndash; Ability to inspire and motivate students in both practical and theoretical aspects of the subject.
  • Passion for DT andndash; A commitment to fostering a creative and engaging learning experience for students.
