Salary: andpound;29,344-andpound;44,919 (dependent on experience)
About the Role:
A vibrant secondary school in Milton Keynes is looking to appoint a dedicated and organised Food Technician Teacher to support the delivery of engaging and high-quality Food Technology lessons. This role is vital in ensuring the smooth operation of practical sessions and maintaining a safe, well-resourced learning environment. You will work as an integral part of the Design andamp; Technology department, helping to inspire students to develop key life skills, creativity, and confidence in the kitchen.
Key Responsibilities:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) desirable
- A degree in Food Technology, Nutrition, or a related subject
- Experience teaching across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 (KS5 is desirable)
- Strong classroom management and lesson planning skills
- Passion for food education and engaging students in practical learning
- Prepare and set up materials, ingredients, and specialist equipment for food practicals across all key stages
- Ensure a clean, safe, and organised classroom and prep area in line with health and safety and food hygiene regulations
- Monitor and maintain stock levels, place orders, and manage deliveries in coordination with the department lead
Requirements:
- Previous experience in a school technician, catering, or kitchen-based role is highly desirable
- Knowledge of food hygiene and safety practices (a Food Hygiene Certificate is beneficial)
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team
- A proactive and positive attitude, with a willingness to learn and adapt to the needs of the department
