Supply Desk is currently working in partnership with a welcoming and well-resourced secondary school in Great Missenden, seeking an engaging Food Technology Teacher to join their Design and Technology department from September. This is a full-time position with full teaching responsibilities across Key Stages 3 and 4, running until at least December 2025.
About the Role:
- Plan and deliver dynamic, hands-on Food Technology lessons to KS3 and KS4 students.
- Take full responsibility for all aspects of classroom teaching, including lesson planning, marking, and assessment.
- Foster a supportive and inclusive classroom environment that nurtures enthusiasm for cooking and nutrition.
- Encourage creativity and independence in food preparation while promoting safe and hygienic kitchen practices.
- Demonstrate strong classroom management and build positive relationships with students.
- Work collaboratively with the wider Design andamp; Technology team to enhance curriculum delivery and share effective teaching strategies.
The ideal candidate will:
- Possession of Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent teaching qualification.
- Specialisation in Food Technology or Design andamp; Technology, with a strong focus on food.
- Recent experience teaching in a UK secondary school, preferably within the Food Technology subject area.
- In-depth understanding of the KS3 and KS4 Food Technology curriculum.
- Proven ability to manage classrooms effectively and inspire students across a range of abilities.
- A current Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one.
