We are seeking a reliable and organised Food Technology Technician to support our busy and well-resourced Food Technology department in a thriving secondary school in Newham.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working in a practical environment and supporting students in developing essential life skills.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare ingredients, equipment, and resources for Food Technology lessons
• Support teachers and students during practical cooking sessions
• Ensure kitchens and food preparation areas are clean, hygienic, and compliant with food safety regulations
• Monitor and manage stock, including ordering supplies and checking deliveries
• Maintain equipment and ensure it is safe and ready for use
• Support displays and events related to the department

The Ideal Candidate Will:

• Have experience in a food preparation, catering, or school environment (desirable but not essential)
• Hold (or be willing to obtain) a Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate
• Be highly organised with strong attention to detail
• Have a good understanding of health, safety, and hygiene standards
• Be able to work independently and as part of a team
• Show enthusiasm for supporting young people in a practical learning environment
