Food Safety Team Leader

Good Afternoon,

I am currently representing Southwark Council, who are offering an initial temporary contract for a period of 3-6 months with a view to be extended or offered a permanent position for the right candidate at a rate which is negotiable dependent upon experience

We are looking for a Food Safety Team Leader this role will be based at: 160 Tooley Street, London, SE1 2QH,

The right candidate will:

The role involves the day-to-day management of the food safety team to deliver the full range of functions while also dealing with a small case work of mainly more complex cases. -

The purpose of the role is to work with the business unit and unit manager to strategically develop and ensure effective delivery of the food law regulatory functions including future planning of the business unit work areas, wider divisional priorities, wider council priorities. -

The team leaders will have responsibility for:

• leading and managing the team consisting of principal enforcement officers, enforcement officers, assistant enforcement officers and support staff.-
• undertake business planning and performance management of the staff-
• ensure policies and procedures are up to date
• ensure the functions of the food team are delivered in accordance with statutory guidelines and adequate arrangements in place covering lead food hygiene and food standards responsibilities.-

We require the following:

• Suitable candidates will have extensive current experience regulating food safety within a local authority and have a sound knowledge of food safety, hygiene and food standards matters.-
