A full-time FLT Driver Counterbalance position is available in Leigh, offering a temporary-to-permanent contract with a leading contract logistics provider. The role involves operating counterbalance forklifts to ensure safe and accurate movement of goods within a busy warehouse environment. Responsibilities include supporting daily logistics operations, maintaining safety standards, and handling goods with precision. Day shifts start between 6am and 8am, Monday to Friday, working nine hours per day. The hourly rate is £12.88 for days, with alternative afternoon and night shifts available at higher rates. Shifts: Monday- Friday (Days) 6am- 8am start, (Afternoon) 1pm- 3pm start, (Nights) 10pm- 2am start. All shifts are 9 hours.

You will be responsible for the safe, efficient, and accurate movement of goods within a busy logistics environment. The role involves operating counterbalance forklifts, supporting warehouse operations, and maintaining high standards of safety, accuracy, and productivity.
As an FLT Warehouse Operative your duties will be: -
- Safely operate FLT equipment (counterbalance) to load, unload, move, and stack goods.
- Load and unload vehicles following safe working practices.
- Follow site safety rules, PPE requirements, and manual‑handling guidelines.
- Work closely with supervisors, drivers, and colleagues to meet operational targets.
- Prepare orders using handheld scanners.
- Maintain clean, safe, and well‑organised storage areas.
The successful FLT Warehouse Operative will have the following skills: -
- Valid FLT Counterbalance Licence (RTITB, ITSSAR, AITT, or equivalent).
- Warehouse Experience in a logistics, distribution, or manufacturing environment.
- Manual Handling capability and understanding of safe lifting techniques.
- Use of Scanners or warehouse management systems (WMS).
- Communication Skills for working effectively within a team.
- Experience working within a fast‑paced logistics environment.
- Reliable with a strong work ethic.
Additional Information
- This role will be 60/70% FLT work.
- Drug and alcohol tests will be conducted at random.
