Hexagon Recruitment is expanding and we’re looking for a Yard Operative to join a busy waste and recycling site in Deeside, Flintshire.
Do you hold a valid 360 Excavator licence and Forklift (FLT Counterbalance) licence? Can you reliably commute to Deeside? If so, this could be the perfect opportunity for you.
The Role: Yard Operative
You’ll play a key role in keeping site operations running smoothly, working with machinery and supporting recycling processes.
Key Responsibilities:
• Loading and unloading containers and curtain siders using an FLT
• Operating a 360 excavator to move, rotate, and sort materials
• Carrying out daily machine checks and ensuring equipment is safe to use
• Sorting recycling materials and removing non-conforming items
• Maintaining high standards of site housekeeping
• Following all Health & Safety and environmental procedures
• Liaising with the weighbridge team on daily stock and materials
• Supporting the team with general yard duties as required
Hours & Pay
• Monday to Friday (approx. 40 hours per week)
• Overtime available (weekdays & weekends)
• £13.39 per hour
What We’re Looking For
• Valid 360 Excavator licence
• Valid Forklift Truck FLT Counterbalance licence
• Proven experience operating both in a workplace setting
• Strong awareness of Health & Safety on industrial sites
• A hands-on, team-player attitude with a willingness to muck in
