Flood Resilience Manager

Our client is seeking a Flood Resilience Manager to join its Spatial Planning and Climate Resilience team. Based in Aylesbury, the role will lead a team responsible for flood risk management, drainage and climate resilience across the local area. The position offers hybrid working, with two days in the office, alongside home working and occasional site visits.Key Responsibilities:Manage, support and develop a team of 16 staff, including three direct reportsProvide effective leadership across flood resilience, drainage and flood risk activitiesSupport recruitment activity for two vacant posts within the teamOversee the assessment and management of flood risk associated with highways and wider developmentApply knowledge of drainage design and modelling, including InfoDrainage and MicroDrainagePrepare reports, recommendations and technical information for senior stakeholdersPresent information to scrutiny committees and cabinet members where requiredAttend meetings and site visits, working collaboratively with internal teams and external partnersJob Requirements:Strong people-management and team leadership experienceExperience in flood resilience, flood risk management, drainage or a closely related disciplineKnowledge of highways drainage and flood risk assessmentProficiency in InfoDrainage and MicroDrainagePolitical awareness and confidence presenting to senior and public-sector stakeholdersLocal authority experience is desirable but not essentialExcellent communication, ..... full job details .....
