Sustainability at Saica begins with our values we care, we value and we challenge.We are now recruiting for a Flexographic Printer to join our team. You will be responsible for leading and operating a flexographic print machine whilst ensuring your print operations are conducted in a safe and controlled manner.Responsibilities

Setting up and operating print machinery safely and efficiently, maintaining a clean and compliant work area.Monitoring and delivering production orders, ensuring print quality is consistently high.Ensuring compliance with regulatory standards including BRC, ISO and A2 permit.Carrying out print inspections, troubleshoot issues, and resolve non-conformities with support from colleagues.Applying lean manufacturing principles such as 5S and SMED, contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.Accurately completing all paperwork, electronic data, and change request forms.Conducting thorough shift handovers, ensuring smooth transitions between shifts.Performing press changeovers and run speeds in line with KPIs, minimising waste during print runs.Qualifications

Fully trained Flexographic Printer with City and Guilds or NVQ Level 2 or 3 an advantageAdditional qualifications (e.g., fire safety, first aid) an advantage but not essentialGood literacy and numeracy, preferably GCSE level in English and Maths or equivalentExtensive flexographic print experience, specifically with solvent based inks and wide web pressesExperience of Fischer + Krecke 16S or Bobst 20SIX CI print machines an advantageStrong background in manufacturing, either label or packaging printingExposure to Lean Six Sigma or other continuous improvement techniques an advantagePlate mounting experience an advantageExperience of overseeing the work of others on the print pressExperience with quality, health, safety and environmental standards in a production settingShift patterns

Printers operating the FandK machine, 12 hour shift pattern, rotating over a 4 week cycleWeek 1: 4 nights, 3 days offWeek 2: 3 days, 1 off, 3 nightsWeek 3: 3 off, 4 daysWeek 4: 7 offEqual Opportunities
