Fleet Technician Duncrue Industrial Estate, Belfast BT3 9BP 17.18 per hour (PAYE)37 hours per week12-week assignment with potential for extension, starting Monday 5 October 2026 (negotiable) Hatched Recruitment Group is recruiting an experienced Fleet Technician to join Belfast City Council''s Fleet Management Unit on a temporary basis. This is a hands-on role keeping the council''s busy and varied fleet safe, compliant and on the road. What you''ll be doing:Servicing, maintaining and repairing HGVs, LGVs, EVs and other council vehicles, plus attachments and mobile plantPreparing vehicles for annual testing and spotting and reporting defects earlyCarrying out diagnostic testing and working to manufacturers'' specificationsMinor bodywork and painting where neededDriving council vehicles and supporting the mobile workshop service across the cityCompleting job costing, time recording and quality assurance paperworkSupporting and coaching new starters and apprentices where required What you''ll need:A full, current Category C driving licence valid in Northern IrelandNVQ / City and Guilds Level 3 in Motor Vehicle Engineering, or an equivalent qualificationAt least one year''s experience in each of the following areas:working in a diverse fleet maintenance environmentservicing, maintaining and repairing both HGV and LGV vehiclesmaintaining and repairing vehicle attachments and mobile plantGood health and safety knowledge in a workshop settingStrong teamwork, organisation and ..... full job details .....
