You''ll play a key role in maintaining and repairing the Council''s fleet, ensuring our front-line services can operate safely and efficiently.Working both independently and as part of a small workshop team, you will carry out a wide range of maintenance, diagnostic and repair tasks across vehicles, plant, and specialist equipment.What You''ll Be DoingAs part of the Transport Repair Unit, your responsibilities will include:Conducting safety inspections on large and light vehiclesCarrying out safety checks on all types of plant and equipmentServicing, diagnosing, and repairing defects on a wide range of vehicles and council-owned equipmentPreparing vehicles for MOT and ensuring compliance with UK road safety legislationUsing specialist diagnostic equipment to identify and repair faults in:Electrical systemsHydraulicsComputerised container hoists and refuse bodiesAutomatic gearboxesPlant equipmentCompleting accurate written documentation and updating the Fleet Management Software for complianceFollowing all Council procedures and Health and Safety requirementsMaintaining high standards of conduct and representing the Council positivelyAttending ..... full job details .....
