Fleet Manager
Location: Carlisle Area
Salary: -5565,000 base salary DOE
Summary:
We are looking for an experienced Fleet Manager to take ownership of a busy and diverse vehicle fleet, ensuring the highest standards of compliance, efficiency, and operational performance. Must have experience of managing 150+ fleet. This is an excellent opportunity for a data-driven and strategic individual who enjoys using analytics to optimise fleet performance and drive continuous improvement. Reporting into the senior leadership team, you will be responsible for managing all aspects of fleet operations, ensuring vehicles are compliant, cost-effective, and operating at maximum efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the day-to-day operation of the fleet, ensuring maximum vehicle availability and utilisation
- Oversee all fleet compliance, including Operator Licence requirements, maintenance schedules, MOTs, inspections, and legal obligations
- Analyse fleet performance data and produce detailed reports and KPIs
- Drive optimisation initiatives to improve vehicle utilisation, reduce operating costs, and increase operational efficiency
- Manage fleet maintenance providers and supplier relationships
- Monitor fuel usage, fleet costs, and identify opportunities for savings
- Develop and implement fleet strategies that support business growth and operational performance
- Ensure all compliance documentation and records are maintained accurately
- Work closely with transport, operations, and finance teams to support business objectives
- Lead continuous improvement projects across the fleet function
Key Skills/Experience:
- Previous experience as a Fleet Manager managing large fleet of 150+
- Strong understanding of fleet compliance and transport legislation
- CPC qualification is desirable
- Highly analytical with excellent reporting and data interpretation skills
- Proven ability to optimise fleet performance and control operational costs
- Commercially aware with a strategic mindset
- Strong IT skills with experience using fleet management systems and Microsoft Excel
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Able to influence change and drive continuous improvement
