About the Role
This contract role seeks a Fleet Driver Trainer in Newcastle upon Tyne, paying £150 daily. Working on a freelance basis, the successful candidate delivers half and full-day induction or upgrade courses for clients. Sessions combine classroom tuition with practical, on-road assessment in category B vehicles, predominantly vans. Each half-day module runs for four hours. Trainers must hold relevant instruction experience and produce precise, timely evaluation reports after each session. Strong communication, observational judgement and a professional manner are essential when coaching drivers. Assignments occur at client premises, so flexibility and readiness to travel locally are expected. The position suits qualified instructors keen to support varied fleet operations.
PDT Fleet Training Solutions is looking to onboard several Freelance Fleet Driver Trainers/ Instructors/ Assessors at multiple locations across Great Britain. This role involves working with prestigious clients and delivering a mix of classroom and on-road driver induction or upgrade courses at locations across the country.

As a Freelance Fleet Driver Trainer, your duties will include the following:
Delivering both half and full-day coaching and assessment sessions on client premises in category B Vehicles (mostly vans).
Half-day courses are 4 hours in duration.
Timely completion of an accurate assessment report.
The successful candidate will ideally have the following skills and experience:
Desirable qualifications include being accredited as an (ADI) Approved Driving Instructor Fleet Trainer or recorded on the LGV National Instructors Register (NIR).
A proactive approach to delivering engaging and inclusive training (positive driver behaviours are to be promoted).
Experience in delivering courses in electric vehicles (free upskill training is available to the right applicants).
Professional approach to the delivery of safe driving PowerPoint presentations.
Excellent communication and report-writing skills.
Your laptop and printer (all course presentation material is provided by PDT).

We offer £105 for half day courses and up to £210 for full day Monday-Friday.
Weekend work is occasionally available at enhanced rates.
