Fleet Controller
The Opportunity A growing rail freight and wagon maintenance organisation is seeking a Fleet Controller to join its Fleet team on an initial fixed-term contract to provide maternity cover, with longer-term opportunities possible for the right individual.This is a pivotal role, acting as the link between customers, maintenance providers and internal stakeholders to ensure maintenance activity is planned and delivered effectively across the fleet. You''ll take ownership of customer accounts, coordinate maintenance schedules and play a key role in operational delivery.The role would suit someone with experience in planning, scheduling, logistics or coordination who enjoys problem-solving, working with multiple priorities and operating in a fast-paced environment. Rail experience is not essential; attitude, initiative and the ability to learn are valued more highly.The Situation This requirement has arisen due to maternity leave within the Fleet team. The successful individual is expected to join by September/October to allow for a full handover before the current incumbent leaves around Christmas.The Fleet team plans and coordinates maintenance activities across a large wagon fleet, liaising with customers, scheduling maintenance, coordinating resources and ensuring work is completed and invoiced correctly.
