Fleet and Maintenance Assistant Manager

Mansfield District Council have a great opportunity for a Fleet and Maintenance Assistant Manager to join the team based in Mansfield. You will join us on a full time, permanent basis, and in return, you will receive a competitive salary of £46,579 - £50,908 per annum. Mansfield District Council is seeking a Fleet and Maintenance Assistant Manager to help lead a safe, compliant and reliable vehicle management and maintenance service from Hermitage Lane Depot. Reporting to the Waste Services and Fleet Manager, you will oversee the Council s vehicle maintenance workshop, support effective business control and lead a small technical team, including the Vehicle Maintenance Supervisor and Vehicle Mechanics. You will manage the full vehicle and plant lifecycle, including purchase, leasing, servicing, maintenance, replacement planning and disposal. You will also support statutory and regulatory compliance, budget monitoring, MOT testing arrangements, taxi licensing activity, accident and damage records, fuel and oil controls, and the Council s move towards a greener fleet. This is a varied role with significant responsibility, including acting as the Council s nominated Operator Licence holder and authorised examiner for MOT testing.
