Fire Systems Service Engineer

Service Engineer - London and Surrounding RegionsFAFS Fire and Security specialise in designing, installing, commissioning and servicing automatic Fire Detection, Protection and Alarm Systems in and around Greater London. We are currently looking to appoint a new Service Engineer specifically covering the London region.Basic Salary – £42,000 per annum subject to experiencePension, Life Assurance and much more.

Liaising with relevant departments to ensure best practice and the most cost-effective solution. To complete and return all Company documentation and certification to comply with the Company’s ISO 9001 systems and procedures. To work as a team with colleagues and Service Manager to enhance the Company’s reputation in quality and customer service.Carry out scheduled routine servicing in a timely, efficient, and cost-effective manner in line with our Company’s quality standardsCarry out all other necessary works required at customer premises in accordance with our Company’s quality standardsSupport the rota schedule as required to maintain a reliable and responsive out of hours service for our customersEffectively communicate with our customers to ensure a good understanding of system and site status, particularly system defects that affect its correct functionIndicate to our client’s customers any Fire Safety information relevant to the sitePlan own work, including routine service/maintenance visits, emergency call out requirements and remedial repairs and minor additions to existing installations in line with service administration guidanceEnsure legible and timely completion of our clients’ paperwork as requiredBe responsible for the management and security of own equipment stock in an efficient and economical manner by determining stock levels in relation to work activities and ordering stock items as and when appropriateOperate in accordance with our client’s requirements, Company and customer’s quality standards and health and safety requirementsDiscuss and recommend suggestions for system/service improvement with Line ManagerWho We’re Looking ForMinimum of 3 years experience in a like for like or similar role.Full and detailed understanding of BS5839 Part 1Comprehensive understanding of the causes and cures of fire alarm problems, including an ability to recommend changes to practices and processes that may cause false alarms as well as changes to the fire detection, alarm systemsBasic Electrical Safety training (ECA)Manufacturers training in all other equipment required.
