Fire Systems Design Engineer (Reading)

Position: Fire System Design Engineer
Location: Reading Area
Salary: £60,000 - £65,000 per annum + Car Allowance
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pm
 
We are seeking an experienced Fire System Design Engineer to join a leading FM service provider, working on a state-of-the-art commercial facility in the Reading area. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with strong technical expertise in fire alarm systems and AutoCAD design who is looking for the next step in their career with a company that offers clear progression opportunities.
 
Key Responsibilities:
 

• Design and develop fire alarm systems in line with client specifications and industry standards
• Produce accurate design drawings using AutoCAD
• Liaise with project managers, engineers, and clients to ensure technical compliance
• Carry out system calculations and select suitable equipment
• Review designs to ensure cost-effectiveness and functionality
• Provide technical support during installation and commissioning phases

 
Requirements:
 

• Proven experience in fire alarm system design
• Proficiency with AutoCAD
• Strong understanding of relevant standards and regulations (BS 5839 etc.)
• Excellent communication and organisational skills
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects
• Full UK driving licence
