Fire Surveyor

A specialist fire safety consultancy is looking to appoint an experienced Fire Surveyor to support a growing workload across Manchester and the wider North West. The successful Fire Surveyor will work across residential, commercial and mixed-use buildings, carrying out detailed inspections and helping clients understand any required remedial works.

The appointed Fire Surveyor will be responsible for completing site-based surveys and producing clear, accurate reports for a range of clients.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Undertaking fire compartmentation surveys

• Completing fire door inspections

• Inspecting fire-stopping and passive fire protection measures

• Identifying defects, breaches and areas of non-compliance

• Producing detailed reports with practical recommendations

• Reviewing drawings, specifications and building information

• Liaising with clients, contractors and property managers

• Supporting wider compliance and remedial programmes

• Managing site visits across Manchester and surrounding areas

The successful Fire Surveyor will ideally have:

• Previous experience within fire surveying, passive fire protection or building surveying

• Good knowledge of fire doors, compartmentation and fire-stopping systems

• A relevant qualification in Fire Safety, Building Surveying, Construction or a related discipline

• Strong understanding of current UK fire safety guidance

• Good report-writing and communication skills

• Confidence working independently on site

• A full UK driving licence

Qualifications or memberships such as IFE, FDIS, CIOB or equivalent would be advantageous.
