About the Role

From day one, you will be delivering technically detailed fire risk assessments supported by one of the UK''s most experienced fire safety teams. Every assessment is undertaken within a robust technical quality assurance framework, ensuring consistency, accuracy and continual professional development.

You will be joining a consultancy independently certificated to BAFE SP205 for Fire Risk Assessment, where every Fire Risk Consultant is expected to work towards, or already hold, individual registration on the IFE Register for Fire Risk Assessors.

The consultancy has played a significant role in shaping recognised UK fire risk assessment methodology and continues to contribute to the ongoing development of industry guidance and best practice. As part of the team, you will be trained to apply these methodologies to the highest technical standards.

You will work alongside some of the UK''s leading technical fire consultants, receiving one of the most comprehensive in-house training and development programmes available within the fire safety industry.

Every report benefits from technical peer review and mentoring, ensuring continual development and maintaining the highest levels of quality and consistency.

Your Responsibilities

As a Fire Risk Assessor / Fire Risk Consultant, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality, technically robust fire risk assessments and professional fire safety advice across a diverse portfolio of buildings.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Undertaking comprehensive Fire Risk Assessments in accordance with the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 and relevant UK legislation.
• Producing technically detailed, accurate and pragmatic fire risk assessment reports.
• Identifying fire hazards and evaluating fire risks.
• Assessing means of escape and evacuation strategies.
• Reviewing passive fire protection and compartmentation.
• Assessing fire doors and fire-resisting construction.
• Reviewing fire detection and alarm systems.
• Assessing emergency lighting systems.
• Reviewing portable fire extinguishers and fixed suppression systems.
• Assessing smoke control and smoke ventilation systems.
• Reviewing fire safety signage and wayfinding.
• Assessing fire safety management systems.
• Reviewing maintenance records, testing regimes and statutory documentation.
• Providing practical and proportionate fire safety recommendations.
• Discussing findings with clients and explaining technical recommendations.
• Liaising with clients, facilities managers, responsible persons and stakeholders.
• Working collaboratively with senior consultants on technically challenging projects.
• Participating in technical reviews and continual professional development.

About Yoo

We are looking for an ambitious Fire Risk Assessor or Fire Risk Consultant who is passionate about technical excellence and committed to continual professional development.

Ideally you will possess:

• Experience carrying out Fire Risk Assessments.
• Excellent understanding of UK Fire Safety Legislation.
• Knowledge of the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order.
• Experience producing high-quality technical reports.
• Strong communication and client-facing skills.
• A desire to continually develop your technical competence.
• Membership of a recognised professional body would be advantageous.
• Registration with the IFE Fire Risk Assessors Register would be advantageous.
• BAFE SP205 experience would be beneficial but is not essential.
