Fire Engineer - Building Regulations and Cladding Safety Overview We re looking for a Fire Engineer to support a growing pipeline of work across Building Regulations compliance, fire strategy/design, and external wall / cladding safety. You ll work across new build and existing buildings, producing robust, evidence-led outputs for clients, design teams, and regulators. Fire Engineer Key Responsibilities Produce fire strategies for a range of building types, aligned to Building Regulations (Approved Document B) and relevant guidance/standards. Provide fire engineering input across project stages (concept through construction and handover). Support external wall / cladding safety work, including PAS 9980-style FRAEW outputs (where applicable). Contribute to regulatory engagement, including Building Control, AHJs, and project stakeholders. Review architectural details, materials, and specifications for fire performance, compartmentation, means of escape, smoke control, and fire-fighting access. Undertake technical reviews of drawings, reports, and calculations; identify risk and propose compliant solutions. Attend design meetings and provide clear, practical advice to multi-disciplinary teams. Maintain high-quality reporting, record keeping, and document control.
