Job Title: Fire Door Surveyor
Location: Berkshire & Surrey (with travel across surrounding areas)
Salary: up to £45k + Package
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Fire Door Surveyor to join our growing team, covering sites across Berkshire and Surrey. This is a field-based role involving the inspection, assessment, and reporting of fire doors to ensure full compliance with current fire safety regulations and standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive fire door inspections in residential, commercial, and public sector buildings
- Assess fire doors and components against relevant standards (e.g. BS 8214, BS 476, EN 1634)
- Accurately record findings using digital reporting systems
- Identify non-compliance issues and recommend remedial actions
- Liaise with clients, site managers, and contractors professionally on-site
- Ensure all work is completed in line with health & safety requirements
- Produce clear, concise, and compliant survey reports
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Fire Door Surveyor or in passive fire protection
- Strong knowledge of fire door regulations and industry standards
- Relevant certifications (e.g. FDIS Diploma, BRE, or equivalent) preferred
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
- Comfortable using tablets/software for reporting
- Full UK driving licence (essential)
- Strong communication and client-facing skills
Desirable
- Experience working across social housing or commercial property portfolios
- Knowledge of compartmentation and wider passive fire protection systems
