Fire Door Carpenter

Straight-line Group are currently hiring an experienced fire door fitter to work with an established company in Manchester.

 Role overview

the role focuses on:

• Installing, maintaining, and inspecting fire doors
• Ensuring compliance with UK fire safety regulations (e.g. BS 8214, BS 476, Fire Safety Order 2005)
• Working across residential, commercial, and industrial sites
• Carrying out remedial works and upgrades
• Supporting overall fire safety compliance for buildings

 The company itself delivers fire door installation, inspections, and safety compliance for councils and housing providers

 Typical duties

• Install fire-rated doors, frames, seals, and ironmongery
• Inspect existing doors and identify defects
• Carry out repairs or replacements
• Ensure correct fitting to meet fire resistance standards
• Complete compliance reports and documentation
• Work independently or as part of a team across multiple sites

 Requirements

Common expectations include:

• Experience in fire door fitting or carpentry/joinery
• Knowledge of passive fire protection systems
• Understanding of UK fire regulations
• CSCS card (often required)
• Ability to work on-site and travel

 Salary offered:

• £38,000 – £40,000 per year
