Fire Damper Installer / Engineer Location: Sunderland (with travel to sites across the UK) Job Type: Temporary to Permanent Pay Rate: 18.00 - 19.00 per hour (DOE) Benefits Working away allowance Accommodation ("digs") paid when required Travel time paid Overtime available 20 days holiday plus Bank Holidays Permanent opportunity following successful temporary period Ongoing training and development About the Role Our client is a FIRAS-certified contractor specialising in Passive Fire Protection (PFP) services. Due to continued growth, they are seeking a Fire Damper Installer / Engineer to join their team on a temporary to permanent basis. Based in Sunderland, the successful candidate will travel to various client sites nationwide. Some projects will require working away from home, so flexibility is essential. Key Responsibilities Install, service and maintain fire dampers in line with industry regulations and company standards. Ensure correct assembly, alignment and secure installation within ductwork and ventilation systems. Carry out inspections, testing and routine maintenance. Diagnose faults and assist with repairs and component replacements. Complete service reports and compliance documentation accurately. Adhere to all health and safety procedures on-site. Requirements Full UK Driving Licence. Own transport essential. Strong mechanical aptitude and practical skills. Basic knowledge of fire damper systems, construction practices and site safety.
