Fire Cadet Instructor
An opportunity has arisen within our Prevention section for a Fire Cadet Instructor, based at one of our seven branches across South Yorkshire. Fire Cadet Instructor Hours: Part Time 3 Hours per week (Over a 40-week period plus training and event hours). 1 evening a week between 17:00 and 20:00 (3 hours) during academic term time. Contract: Permanent Salary: £1,972 - £2,003 per annum, actual for 3 hours per week (Grade 3: £25,949 per annum FTE) + training and event hours. To increase subject to national pay award negotiations for 2026. Location(s): Across South Yorkshire - Birley Moore S20, Cudworth S71, Dearne 63, Edlington, DN2 The overall purpose of the role will be to support the Cadet Branch Manager in delivering the Fire Cadet Scheme, ensuring cadets achieve their full potential through high-quality education, social action activities, and operational development. The role involves mentoring and inspiring cadets, assisting in the preparation and delivery of cadet sessions, and contributing to events and campaigns that reflect the mission of the scheme. To be considered for this role candidates must have a Level 3 AET teaching qualification or be willing to attain it, along with Level 2 Safeguarding training or a willingness to do so. Essential skills include IT proficiency, safeguarding knowledge, GDPR understanding, and familiarity with the fire service.
