Fire and Security Engineer

OverviewFire and Security Engineer – Location: Birmingham | Full-Time | Salary: £35,000 - £40,000 (Depending on Experience)

What You''ll Be Doing

Installation and Servicing: Install, service, and maintain a wide range of fire and security systems, including fire alarms, intruder alarms, CCTV, and access control systems.

Fault-Finding and Repairs: Carry out fault-finding, diagnostics, and repairs to ensure systems are fully operational and meet safety standards.

Commissioning and Testing: Commission and test systems to ensure compliance with relevant standards, and complete all required documentation and reports.

Customer Support: Provide excellent customer service, including advising clients on system use, maintenance, and any necessary upgrades or improvements.

Compliance and Documentation: Ensure all work complies with industry standards and regulations, and maintain accurate service records, maintenance logs, and time sheets.

Problem-Solving and Reporting: Address any technical issues quickly and effectively while keeping clients informed throughout the process. Report on work completed and any follow-up requirements.

What We''re Looking For

Experience with Fire and Security Systems: Proven experience with the installation, servicing, and maintenance of fire alarm systems, intruder alarms, CCTV, and access control.

Technical Skills: Strong fault-finding, troubleshooting, and repair skills.

Knowledge of British Standards and Regulations: Understanding of current fire and security regulations, including fire safety compliance and relevant standards.

Full UK Driving Licence: A valid UK driving licence is required for travel to and from client sites.

Positive, Can-Do Attitude: Ability to work both independently and as part of a team, demonstrating strong customer service skills and professionalism at all times.

Nice to Have

Experience with specific systems such as Galaxy or other major security brands.

CSCS or ECS card.

IPAF or PASMA certifications.

Previous experience working in commercial and residential environments.
