Fire and Safety Manager

As Building and Fire Safety Manager, you will play a key role in ensuring the safety of Stevenage Borough Council s housing stock and residents. You will provide strategic and operational leadership across building and fire safety, ensuring effective arrangements are in place to identify, manage and reduce risk across our buildings. You will work closely with colleagues across the Council, residents, contractors, consultants, the Fire and Rescue Service and the Building Safety Regulator to ensure that building and fire safety requirements are understood, embedded and effectively delivered. You will oversee inspections, assurance activity, Building Safety Cases, compliance programmes and remedial works, providing expert advice and challenge where required. A key part of the role will be maintaining the information and systems that underpin effective building safety management. You will oversee the Council s Golden Thread of building safety information, ensuring that information is accurate, accessible and maintained throughout the building lifecycle. You will also have responsibility for key Building Safety Regulator requirements, including Mandatory Occurrence Reporting, change control and appropriate permit-to-work and control-of-work arrangements.
